| While I love and support our troops around the globe, here is an eye-opener for you. The war in Iraq has cost the taxpayers more than $359 billion dollars. If you took that same amount of money and spent it elsewhere, you could buy a lot of great things or hire a lot of people. In fact, you could pay for more than 17 million full four-year college scholarships. Speaking of education, you could hire 6,224,739 schoolteachers for a year with that money. If you are worried about your kids and the health care coverage your work provides for them, it would not have been a problem, because you could have had total health care and insurance for more than 215 million children a year. Just think of how many police officers we could hire, or the food you could eat. All paid for. As for me, I would like a new car thrown in. Why not? After all, I could have one with the money that is being spent on the war while I write this. And this whole thing is far from over.

| Just think how much quicker they could have helped the New Orleans situation with that money. I saw on tv the other night that a year later people were still living in hovels. The USA needs to realise that people worldwide are talking about them and shaking their heads in disbelief.
I'm always surprised at how much world news we get about America here in Australia and yet the other way round? I've heard from friends that it's often nix.

| As regards to Australia, the Liberals are now saying that they have succeeded in creating the lowest unemployment and prosperity since they have been in power.
If that's true then why is there such a critical shortage of doctors to manage our hopelessly failing hospitals? .

How uneducated of you. Where do you think that money was spent? We buy all of our munitions and military equipment from private industry, in America. Almost all rations and supplies are from the US. If anything, jobs have been created by the war, if you can even call it that. On the other hand, maybe you're talking about the millions we've spent rebuilding the Iraqi infrastructure: schools, hospitals, utilities, even factories. Yea, what a waste. The Iraqi people deserve none of that.

| Yes, your right PB. Sledge has got it all wrong. There might have been job created by the Iraq war but that's not good. It would have been better creating jobs for peaceful purposes. Bush spent all the money created by those jobs on the war. The sooner Bush is put on trial for war crimes, the better. | |
