Pour Rire

Sometimes life just isn't all that funny. Sometimes you need a little entertainment. Here are a few of my favorite links that keep me smiling or guffawing when there's not enough chocolate in the cupboard.

Made in America humor when I need some comic relief:

www.dilbertblog.typepad.com Scott Adams's thoughts on just about everything.

www.dooce.com Heather Armstrong of Dooce fame. Funny from right down to the kneecaps.

www.compleatsteve.com
or
www.stevemartin.com

Unofficial and official Steve Martin websites. Nuff said.

www.thenewyorker.com Just a good all-around resource.

www.theonion.com You don't know the Onion yet?

www.comedycentral.com Of course.

www.borowitzreport.com Irreverance at its best.

www.improb.com The Annals of Improbable Research, and home to the IgNobel Awards. Makes you laugh and then you think. Plan to spend about 5 days on this site if you've never been there before. A gold mine.

Et maintenant....

Links to things that will make you laugh if you know and love France and the French:

http://www.canalplus.fr/pid20.htm
Les Guignols de l'Info

http://www.ddbparis.fr/ddb.html French advertising company with many hilarious sketches. MTV and Friskies are among my favorites.

http://www.petitsriens.com/bonus.html Stephane Rubin acts out all of those annoying Parisian pet peeves to a perfect art.

And a few irreverent YouTube sites that popped up when I was trying to find links to the old French language program, French in Action:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTs0a_WXVjs

and, of course, my own blog which is HI-larious...

No no the language of the Fan came from probably late 18th century France -- or early 19th c. That's why the antique fan store had it. Kind of wild, eh?

Probably the equivalent of the language in the personals ads these days...
