Cristy, I only go to mass when I'm able to because I live too far away from a church. I try and make up for it though by saying my daily prayers.

Cristy, my hubby goes to church. I don't. I was very (and I mean VERY
to the point of exhaustion literally) involved in a few churches but
was very hurt at the time by cultish overtones. I spent 18 years (from
when I was 20 to 38 in one church/organisation and gave my young years
which I now regret but am getting over as time goes on.

That's my church story. But I still believe in God, Jesus, etc,
but am not the preachy type and feel compassion for those going
through things in life. I have a partially handicapped daughter (she
lives her own life), son burnt at 18 months, I nearly died with Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome which I still battle from time to time - and these
things either make you or break you. I like to think I am strong but
afraid not. Somewhere deep down I have no doubts about stuff like a
life hereafter, salvation, etc etc. But it sits there and no longer
drives me.

My life and beliefs in a nutshell so I'll get of my soapbox now Big Grin ecstatic LOL

rightasrain. The whole church, religion thing can and usually is very complex. As for me, I experienced hard times in my religion but now it's getting better.

and with your with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome , I just may be able to help. I have recorded and made my own yoga relaxation CD and it works miracles for me. When I have CFS attacks , I put on the relaxation CD and it cures me. I know you may have tried other relaxation CD's but mine is better than anyone else's I've tried. If you want to try it , I'll send you a copy in the mail. There are no copyrights on it and you can copy it and share it with others too.

So i take it albert that u are catholic or was catholic??? But thats some interesting things rightasrain. I am a fundamental baptist and i go to church every single sunday but sometime i feel like there is no point to go because right now in my life i feel so far from God and i feel kind of doubting. But then agian i know there is a God because i seen him work in so many ways that are a true mircale.

Albert, that is simply wonderful!!!! I would really appreciate it if
you'd send me the CD!! I've never tried relaxation CDs but have read
meditation books where you can record a relaxation section out of the
book and play it back. Never done it though :-) I have meditated from
time to time but I find that for me, painting is much more relaxing and
meditative. Didn't know you have had CFS.

Thanks so much. Do you still have my address? This is a glimmer of hope for me and I'm grateful.

PB, I know how you feel and you've expressed it exactly how I think about all this.
